Disclaimer: The following are resources I personally use and find helpful. However, I cannot give a blanket endorsement for every author, app or episode, and these resources are not officially endorsed by Kortright Church (KPC) staff or leadership. I encourage you to use them with discernment, prayerful consideration, and ultimately hold it all up to the standard of scripture as the highest authority.

Bibles for Family Read-Alouds

  • The Jesus Storybook Bible (ages 2+) If you dont already have a copy, please talk to me! We recommend this as a great starter bible for littles, but the beautifully worded truths will stay with all ages into adulthood. 
  • The Big Picture Story Bible (ages 2–4) Perfect for toddlers, large pictures and simple language that tells one big story from creation to revelation. 
  • The Kingdom of God Story Bible (ages 5+) This is our family’s favorite kids bible, stunningly illustrated with discussion points at the end of every chapter. 
  • The Parables of Jesus (ages 5+) A collection of all of Jesus’ parables beautifully illustrated with excellent family discussion points. Highly recommended to cover many of Jesus’ teachings not included in standard children’s Bibles. 
  • Minno Laugh and Grow Bible (Ages 4+) Don’t let the fun characters and illustrations fool you – this Bible is packed with deep truths presented in a wonderfully accessible way for young kids. Pairs well with the minno Bible videos or excellent as a stand alone bible. 
  • The Biggest Story Bible (ages 6+) – Great for older kids familiar with basic Bible stories, this Bible is wonderful for family devotionals or diving deeper into lesser known stories from the whole bible.

  • *The Ology: Ancient Truths Made NewThe Ology is a stunningly illustrated beginner’s theology book to help kids of all ages understand who God is and how we, as his children, relate to him. This storybook of systematic theology takes abstract concepts in the Bible and makes them easier to understand with the use of creative examples, illustrations, and analogies.
  • *The New City Catechism for KidsThe New City Catechism for Kids is a modern-day resource aimed at teaching the core doctrines of the Christian faith to children ages 4–11. This 64-page booklet contains each of the 52 easy-to-understand questions and short answers found designed to help children understand who God is and what he has done.
  • *What Every Child Should Know About Prayer by Nancy Guthrie – Nancy explains in child-friendly language what prayer is, how and why we should pray, and the things we can pray about. There is a Bible verse for each topic, and a prayer for children to make their own.

Kids Streaming & Video

  • Minno (Christian kids streaming) – Subscription‑based streaming for children’s Bible shows and content. We’ve had this subscription for several years now and continue to love the variety of both bible and educational content for toddlers and elementary kids. Home to the Young David series, Veggietales, Good News Guys, Dead Sea Squirrels, Theo, Minno Laugh and Grow Bible, Owlegories and much more. I often use these shows at Sunday School to supplement special lessons. 
  • YouTube Kids – Minno Laugh and Grow Bible series (Great for toddlers and younger elementary kids)
